McDowell Sonoran Preserve
Rules & Regs 2007

 In May 2000, the Scottsdale City Council passed the Preserve Ordinance, Ord. 3321. The full text is available at the City’s web site at

The following is a partial list of the information for users of the Preserve in Ord. 3321:

1. No motorized vehicles
2. Users must remain on designated and posted trails. Off-trail use prohibited
3. Feeding wildlife prohibited
4. Vandalism, graffiti or littering prohibited
5. No alcohol without a permit
6. Camping prohibited
7. No fires, no smoking, no fireworks in the Preserve
8. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, stay on established trails and waste must be picked up and disposed of properly.
9. Glass bottles prohibited
10. Collecting (plants, rocks, animals, artifacts) or removing any materials prohibited
11. Weapons – carrying or using prohibited
12. Noise – annoying or disturbing others prohibited. No model airplanes, rockets, generators, etc.
13. Preserve hours are sunrise to sunset
