WestWorld is comprised of approximately 120 acres which are available for a variety of uses and events. WestWorld is designed as a premier, nationally recognized, user friendly equestrian center and special events facility close to the planned community of McDowell Mountain Ranch. The history of WestWorld begins in 1968, and continues through January 1997, when the City of Scottsdale reacquired the management rights and assets to the facility. Westworld continues to evolve into a world class facility, as it has played host to some of the most important events in the Scottsdale, including the Barret-Jackson Classic Car show, Arabian Horse Show and other world class organizations.

The Business Plan serves to develop the financial, operational, and strategic focus for WestWorld. It addresses many of the challenges and opportunities now facing the City as a result of assuming management responsibility and purchasing the fixed assets of WestWorld, effective January 1, 1997. Final approval of the WestWorld Business Plan was given by City of Scottsdale Council on March 16, 1998.
