What is a Pedorthist and why should I see one?
Pedorthics is a valuable allied health profession that helps bridge the gaps which exist between the medical and footwear communities. A Certified Pedorthist is credentialed by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics and is an individual who has studied foot anatomy and pathology, biomechanics, shoe construction and modification, foot orthosis fabrication and materials, footwear fitting and patient/practice management
Pedorthics is the design, manufacture, modification, and fit of shoes and foot orthoses to alleviate problems caused by disease, overuse, congenital conditions, and injury.
About PegPeg is a former professionally trained ballet dancer whose career ended abruptly as a result of an undiagnosed foot injury. She is passionate about helping others with foot related problems, and possesses a compassionate, educational, and thorough approach towards customer care. Although she is an avid road cyclist, she can also relate to many health-related challenges. Prior to doing work for eSoles she helped oversee a small pedorthic facility in upstate NY. Peg also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from UMass, Amherst.
